Actor Javed Jaffrey’s Wife Habiba Duped Of ₹17.5 Crore; Mumbai Police Arrest Accused In Cheating Case

Mumbai Police have arrested a man identified as Nishit Patel in connection with an alleged ₹17.5 crore cheating case involving Habiba Jaffrey, wife of actor Javed Jaffrey. The arrest was made by the Property Cell after Habiba reportedly lodged a complaint accusing Patel of duping her in a major financial fraud case.

According to officials, the accused allegedly cheated Habiba of ₹17.5 crore, although investigators have not yet revealed the complete details of how the fraud was carried out. Police sources said the matter is currently under investigation, and statements of people linked to the case are being recorded. Authorities are also examining financial transactions and related documents to trace the money trail and determine the full scope of the alleged scam.

Reports suggest that the case could be linked to a housing or investment-related deal. Investigators suspect that Nishit Patel may not have acted alone and are probing whether more individuals were involved in the alleged fraud. Officials are also looking into whether similar scams targeting influential personalities or celebrities may be connected to the accused.

The Mumbai Police’s Property Cell, which often handles high-value financial fraud matters, carried out the arrest following preliminary findings in the case.
